Johnny DramaElectrifying. Exhilarating. Virtuosic. Breathtakingly Relentless. Undeniably Talented.
The word is out, and the name on people's tongues is 'Johnny Drama'.
Johnny Drama has been tearing down venues and slaying crowds with their unique brand of dance-meets-distortion for almost 2 years and show no signs of slowing. The sum of the parts in Johnny Drama easily add up to more than most cover bands can muster in their finest hour, but together as a unit the band is captivatingly lethal, each member playing a crucial, pivotal role in the resulting cacophony.
This fearsome foursome is fronted by lightning-in-a-bottle frontman Nate Ross, who's powerful, pitch-perfect vocals and raspy rhymes are delivered like a punch to the gut. His undeniable energy and domineering physique transform the most saccharine-sweet pop song into a kick-ass rock anthem, and he sells every note he sings with feeling and intensity.
Guitarist Christian Colabelli is easily one of the best on the scene, unleashing searing lightning-quick aural attacks one moment, then soothing the burn with his clean-tone jazz stylings, unrivaled smooth chops, and cascading effects wizardry the next.
Bassist/Vocalist John 'LJ' Kanopka locks down the bottom end with a tight, steady, and heavy groove that cements the rhythm to the music, and provides impressive on-point lead and harmony vocals that range from high falsettos to impassioned screams.
Drum juggernaut Joe Nivare is rock solid, driving the band with his flailing cymbal hits, and is able to intertwine hi-hat rudiments and tom fills though driving dance beats to create a uniquely poly-rhythmic experience that lure bodies to the dance floor.
But Johnny Drama isn't only a band...they are an experience. The band travels with a fully-automated light show, and in select venues the unleash the awesomeness that is 'JD-TV', the legendary video and multimedia production that finds the band performing 'in-sync' to a video backdrop of the artists they cover. From 80s New Wave and Hair Metal, to 90s Grunge, R&B, and hip-hop, to millennium club and pop hits, the band does it all (and does it well), all while iconic videos, classic movie clips, and other pop culture imagery shine from behind.
Truly a sight to be seen.
